What Color Your Closet?

Color can play a bigger part in successfully organizing your closet than many people give it credit for.

Many studies have shown that particular colors induce particular emotional responses - so it stands to reason that the color of your closet could be one of the first things to set your mood for the day. Whether you know it or not.

For instance, yellow is generally energizing, pink is warm and fuzzy, black is depressing, white is uplifting ... For most people! You may be different. It pays to make a mental note to notice what effect various colors have on your mood during a day or two.

When you have some personal data to work with, you can tie it into the rest of your decor. Decide whether you need to redecorate or modify, or whether your current set-up is actually beneficial to your well-being.

And then do something about it!

For instance, a red closet interior may be 'forcing' you to hurry and impulsively throw garments willy-nilly; black may be encouraging you to do your business and escape from the closet interior as quickly as possible. Result: messy, messy, messy.
