The Sentimental Soul

Even closet cleaners get sentimental. And that's half the problem!

At some point - usually when you can't find or can't fit or can't hang something you really must - you will need to cram sentimentality into a box and start getting aggressive.

Some items are easily classified, but some defy logic, reality and most other yardsticks. And sentimentality is back. It is a powerful driver.

So what do you do about it?

Acknowledge that it is just as much a reality as all the other hard-headed actions. Accept that it is a part of you, and so are the objects of your sentiment.

Find a quality box, line it heavily with tissue paper and sprinkle in some cedar chips or blocks. Make sure the clothes are clean, and then place tissue and cedar between layers as you pack.

Find a cool dry place to store your precious sentimental box. And keep it to one box.

You'll feel much better. Guaranteed. Your past is a part of you, no matter what the pragmatists say!
